Position Summary

Morgana Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Plockmatic International, a part of the Plockmatic Group. The company supplies a wide range of innovative and market leading offline post-press equipment for customers involved in the many and varied activities of the printing industry throughout the world. Morgana Systems are headquartered in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK.

We are seeking to appoint a talented and committed IT Support Technician to perform a key role in assisting our staff with first line support queries.

You will be involved with a variety of service desk, desktop, telephone, remote and client facing support and you will be given many opportunities to get involved with a range of IT work. Candidates must have excellent customer service and quality management skills, equipped with the passion, resources and commercial insight to help achieve them.

You will be reporting to our Swedish based central IT team and will facilitate all UK based IT support.

You will be working with a wide range of technologies as part of a friendly and dedicated team, in a great environment.

Successful Outcome:

The success of this role can be measured in key areas:

 

  • Personnel Support: To aid employees with all IT hardware/software queries and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Project Based Work: To either manage or participate in various local and group projects that benefit the present and future Morgana and Group infrastructure.
  • IT Asset Safeguarding: To control IT fixed asset register and track ownership and location of hardware/software.
  • Group IT Co-operation: To liaise with group infrastructure officer in all group projects and policies. This includes all IT security risk assessments.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Personnel Support:

  • Monitor and support the group wide IT ticket system, working on escalations from 1st and 2nd line support, responding to queries in person, over the phone or by email.
  • Manage hardware/software requests including new starters and leavers, providing training when required.
  • Diagnose hardware and software issues,
  • Maintain availability and reliability of all systems.
  • Ordering and installation of IT hardware/software.
  • Remote Support for users not on site.
  • Prioritise and escalate issues as necessary

Project Based Work:

  • Active participation or leadership in various projects to assist and facilitate the needs of individual departments.

IT Asset Safeguarding:

  • Keeping track of IT assets ensuring all recorded on IT asset register.
  • Liaising with finance manager on asset additions and disposals.
  • Safeguarding IT assets against malicious intent and appropriate disaster recovery.

Group IT Co-operation:

  • Co-ordination of group policies and projects with CIO across group.
  • Plan and develop roadmap for continuous improvement of systems and hardware.

 

Also any other tasks and responsibilities deemed reasonable by the management.

Qualifications / Experienced Required

The key attributes are:

 

  • Broad range of IT skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to multi-task is essential.
  • Able to work towards and hit multiple deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills with efficient self-motivation and initiative.
  • Good communication skills when dealing with external and internal customers.
  • Superior attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with MS Office package.
  • Experience and understanding of File and print servers, Microsoft Exchange server, Office 365, WANs LANs and Wi-Fi.

 

Full driving license. Local and occasional international travel will be required.
